Parking Options
Parking Permits
To park on campus, your student must purchase a parking permit. These parking permits are assigned annually, and popular lots and garages sell out. To register, visit transport.tamu.edu/Parking/faqpermit.
What’s different with Parking Permits at Texas A&M University?
The significant difference that may be new to your student is Texas A&M utilizes virtual permits. Your student must connect their license plate to their virtual permit online. Additionally, the license plate must be visible on the driving aisle so the license plate reader camera can see the plate. If your student is from out-of-state and does not have a front-end license plate, please ensure your student knows how to park so their license plate shows outwardly.

Sustainable Options
Bicycle
Bicycles are a great sustainable option for getting around campus, and TAMU has designated bike lanes, racks, and maintenance stations. Transportation requires micro mobility device registration for a one-time fee of 10 dollars to help deter theft and provide maintenance and other services to students.
If your student does not want to bring a bike their first semester, they can lease a bike for a semester or borrow one for free.
All Micromobility Devices
Electric Scooters, Skateboards, and other Micromobility Devices. Similar to bicycles, Texas A&M has seen a rise in the use of micromobility devices such as electric scooters, skateboards, and hoverboards. All such devices must be registered with the university and require a one-time $10 registration fee. Micromobility devices with electric motors exceeding 750 watts (1 horsepower) are not permitted for use on campus. Additionally, these devices are not allowed inside any Texas A&M buildings. If your student lives on campus or has a longer commute and plans to use an electric device, please remind them to plan ahead for off-campus storage and charging, as charging is not available inside residence halls or campus facilities.
Veo Bike Share
Transportation Services has partnered with Veo to offer students and visitors another sustainable option of more than 1,200 pedal bikes and e-bikes on campus. Download the Veo App on either iPhone or Android. Your student must register with their university email address to get the discounted rate. Click this link to see the rates of the different types of bikes.
