Joining a fraternity or sorority is one of the many ways students can get involved at Texas A&M University. There are nearly 6,000 students who have joined one of our 57 inter/nationally affiliated or local Greek-letter organizations on campus. Each chapter is a member of one of the four governing councils with their own distinct way for individuals to join their organizations.
The Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC) is home to 14 nationally recognized sororities and hosts their primary recruitment period at the beginning of each fall semester. Women interested in joining a CPC sorority are encouraged to register for primary recruitment by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023. The link to register for recruitment can be found at tamucpcrecruitment.mycampusdirector2.com. Please note that Alpha Epsilon Phi does not participate in primary recruitment and hosts an independent recruitment week following primary recruitment. Individuals interested in joining Alpha Epsilon Phi can register at www.aggieaephi.com/recruitment. For more details about joining a CPC sorority, please visit cpc.tamu.edu.
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is comprised of 17 national fraternities and hosts formal recruitment at the beginning of each semester in a semi-structured format. During IFC recruitment, men are able to participate in events hosted by each chapter at their discretion. All potential new members must attend Convocation and the IFC Anti-Hazing Presentation before accepting a bid from a chapter. Registration for fall’s formal recruitment period closes on Tuesday, August 22 at 11:59 p.m. Registration for IFC recruitment can be found at tamuifc.mycampusdirector2.com. For more details about joining an IFC fraternity, please visit http://aggieifc.org.
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is comprised of 18 culturally based fraternities and sororities. Individual chapters may host recruitment during the first 2 weeks of school each semester and proceed with intake at predetermined times throughout the academic year. The council hosts MGC Week each semester to help students become more acquainted with member organizations. Students looking to join an MGC organization are encouraged to attend MGC x NPHC Meet the Greeks on Friday, August 18 at 4 p.m. in Rudder Plaza. For more details about joining an MGC chapter, please visit at mgc.tamu.edu.
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is comprised of Texas A&M’s eight historically African American fraternities and sororities. Students interested in joining an NPHC organization must attend NPHC’s Hazing Prevention Workshop hosted at the beginning of each semester to be eligible. If interested, students should attend chapter programs and events, attend an interest meeting or informational, get to know members of the organization, and communicate with a member of the organization directly. The first opportunity to meet NPHC members is at MGC x NPHC Meet the Greeks on Friday, August 18 at 4 p.m. in Rudder Plaza, and during NPHC Week events August 28 – September 3. For more details about NPHC chapters, please visit at https://nphc.tamu.edu.
