2024-25 FAFSA® Changes

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) has minor changes each year, but for 2024-25, there are significant changes. As a result, the 2024-25 FAFSA® which has historically been available October 1 of each year, will be available in December 2023.

Completing the FAFSA® is how you apply for federal financial aid programs at Texas A&M University. This application determines eligibility for grants, work study, loans and some scholarships.

The FAFSA Simplification Act expands eligibility for federal financial aid in addition to –

• Streamlining the financial aid application process for students and families;
• Providing a better user experience in completing the form; and
• Reducing completion barriers for certain student populations.

The 2023-24 FAFSA® remains unchanged and continues to be active.
