Role of an Academic Advisor

Three students at a table talking

Whether your student is new, a senior applying for graduation, or somewhere in between, their academic advisors help them to define and achieve their academic goals at Texas A&M University. An academic advisor can help students navigate their academic degree plans and aid in guiding them towards graduation. It's important that students schedule time with their academic advisor at least once a semester, but more frequently if needed.

An academic advisor is a reliable source of information about majors, one who can help students explore their interests, consider alternative majors, select courses, develop a degree plan, and meet degree requirements. Academic advisors can connect students with academic and personal support programs, co-curricular opportunities, and career options.

Students can locate their academic advisor by using the following link: tx.ag/FindMyAdvisor.
