Worried About Your Aggie Living Off-Campus? We’ve Got You Covered!
Living off-campus can be a big adjustment for your Aggie, and they might run into a few bumps along the way. Whether it’s a dispute with their landlord over a security deposit or a disagreement with roommates, these issues can be tough to handle alone. But don’t worry—Student Life is here to help!
Tenant Disputes
If your student is having trouble with their lease, security deposits, maintenance requests, or anything landlord-related, they can book an appointment with our Senior Students’ Attorney, Rick Powell. Rick offers one-on-one legal advice tailored to their specific situation and can even help them prepare for formal legal action if needed.
Roommate Contracts
Roommate conflicts can be stressful. Our staff are available to help students handle these situations. However, if your student and their roommates can’t resolve an issue after an appointment with our Off Campus Student Services staff, Rick can also mediate and help them create a Roommate Contract. This contract can help set clear expectations and hold everyone accountable, making their living situation more comfortable.

Housing Search
If your student needs to find a new place to live quickly and isn’t sure where to start, our Off Campus Student Services team is here to help. They can schedule a one-on-one appointment to guide your student through the housing search. They can also use AggieSearch, a fully searchable database that allows students and parents to find off-campus housing that meets their needs. Leasing 101 workshops are also available to students to help them understand their leases more thoroughly.
