Whether your student prefers a calm quiet library vibe or the wind blowing around outdoors - there is a place for everyone! This article will list the Top 10 places to study at Texas A&M University. Each spot provided below has a different feature that caters to the diverse learning styles, comfort levels, and accessibility needs in a college setting.
- Evan’s Library: Evan’s Library is a common place on campus that student’s study for many reasons. Evan’s offers individual study rooms, group study rooms, collaborative study areas, and research/graduate study areas. Each room has whiteboards and TVs that students can connect their devices to for a larger viewing experience. Additionally, Evan’s has a Starbucks on the first floor alongside the print center.
- Memorial Student Center (MSC): The MSC is a popular place on campus! In the MSC, you can have different study spaces such as the flag room, where a piano is played by students, and different lounges with couches, chairs, tables, and outlets available for charging devices. The MSC is a great place to study for long periods due to the food availability near you. The MSC offers Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Houston Street Subs, Smoothie King, Rev’s American Grill, and many more options!
- Aggie Park: Aggie Park is located directly across from Kyle Field and has beautiful lighting at night. Near the water, you can find rocking chairs, live music at the amphitheater, and a sweet treat at Moore Creamery. Aggie Park provides a cozy atmosphere that is on campus but is quiet enough that you can hear the water move and birds chirp as you study.
- “Quadbucks” - Starbucks on the Quad: Quadbucks is a niche study spot on campus due to the fact it's in the heart of the Corp of Cadets area. Quadbucks is the Starbucks in the Quad that gives the “coffee shop” feel without the busyness of other Starbucks’. This is conveniently located on campus so you can grab a coffee or feel the sweet coffee atmosphere during your studies.
- Leach Teaching Gardens: The Leach Teaching Gardens provide an excellent outdoor space for students to take their studies outside and enjoy the fresh air. The Gardens offer a variety of study spots, including picnic tables, pavilion seating, and open green areas. A Butterfly and Bee Garden adds to the relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal environment for focused studying. The Gardens are located on West Campus, behind the Agriculture and Life Sciences Building, across from Reed Arena.
- Langford Building A; Langford is home to the College of Architecture and is always buzzing with activity year-round, but it’s also a great place to study. The building is located on the east side of campus, right next to the Administration Building. It features an atrium that overlooks all floors, creating an open and inspiring atmosphere. The Wright Gallery is also available for students to admire the impressive work of their fellow Aggies.
- Student Computing Center (SCC): The Student Computing Center is a great place to study with friends or project groups. The SCC offers tons of print rooms, tons of computers available to use, study spaces, and a help desk that is open 24 hours for all of your technology needs. The SCC is one of the only places on campus that is open 24/7.
- West Campus Dining: The West Campus Dining Facility is a great place to study with 2 floors of booths, tables, whiteboard centers, and study spots. Additionally, this facility offers a variety of food like Shake Smart, Copperhead Jacks, Chick-fil-A, and others! This is conveniently located across from the Biochemistry Building which has a Starbucks and Aggie Express inside as well!
- Zachry Engineering Education Complex (ZACH): ZACH is a student-centered learning environment with many different learning opportunities through technology-rich areas, experimental labs, collaborative learning spaces, art programs, and even a Starbucks inside! Zachry is also open 24 hours a day and is noticeably the largest academic building on campus!
- Rudder Theatre Complex: Surprisingly enough, Rudder Theatre and Auditorium are niche places to study on campus as well! The comfortable, spacious seating area makes it convenient for quick studying in between classes located on the central part of campus. Rudder offers a quieter atmosphere with dim lighting that sometimes invokes deeper study motivations.
Overall, Texas A&M is so vast with many areas to study with food and coffee nearby, and opportunities for unique studying through whiteboards, quiet reserved study spaces, and collaborative learning areas for everyone.
